Great Job Everyone!

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008
The Chinatown New Year Parade was a big success on Sunday! Everyone came out with their support and had a really fun time. Although it did get pretty wet about halfway through, it wasn't too bad. Hopefully everybody got a chance to actually watch the parade on television. For those who don't know, Channel M hosted an hour special like they do every year, and we'll soon have some pictures and videos up on our site as well! So a big hand to everyone who came out and let's do it again next year!

Happy Chinese New Year 2008!

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008
We wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year! This is the year of the rat! Those born in rat years tend to be leaders and pioneers. They are charming, passionate, practical and hardworking. We look forward to another great year of everyone working together and having fun! This weekend is also our annual Chinatown New Year Parade, which is happening on Sunday February 10th, 2008. We hope everyone will come out and join in the festivities! Friends and family of members are welcome and are encouraged to participate! There is a huge turnout every year so come early if you can! If this is the first time you are attending the parade, we meet at our Hoy Ping Association location on 440 Main Street Vancouver BC. Time: Doors will be open at 9:00am. (try to arrive before 10:15am) Place: Hoy Ping Association (click for map) Uniforms: Wear black pants and perhaps something for the outdoors So kids and parents come down and celebrate the Chinese New Year with everyone, have fun, eat, and maybe even get on TV! (If you haven't yet, check out a clip of us on TV last year in our Videos section!)

Uniforms (red fleece) and refreshments (Chinese buns) will be provided in the morning. A hot lunch will be provided after the parade.
