Happy Chinese New Year 2009!

Saturday, January 24th, 2009
Gung Hay Fat Choy! Chinese New Year 2009 is coming very soon and to celebrate Vancouver-style, come on down to the annual Chinese New Year Chinatown Parade! This year the parade takes place next weekend on Sunday February 1st, 2009! Every year the parade gets better and the turn out gets bigger! Check out our Videos page for new clips of our performance last year. Friends and family members are always welcome and are encouraged to participate. We will be bringing out our lions, flags and martial arts teams again and volunteers are appreciated! It is a lot of fun (and you might even be seen on TV!), but come early if you want to beat the crowds! If this is the first time you are attending the parade, we meet at our Hoy Ping Association location on 440 Main Street Vancouver BC: Time: Doors will be open at 9:30 am. (Please try to arrive no later than 10:30am) Place: Hoy Ping Association (click for map) Uniforms: Wear black pants and perhaps something for the outdoors. So we wish everyone a prosperous and happy new year, and hopes that everyone will be able to come out and join in the festivities!
