Snow in December 2016… (and class updates)

Sunday, December 18th, 2016
Wow! We haven't had snow like this since ... 2008! Time sure flies when you're having fun! We hope everyone is enjoying the wintery weather we are having (and not stuck somewhere you don't want to be ;)! Speaking of winter, the Winter Solstice is coming up this Wednesday Dec 21st, 2016. And due to the overwhelming amount of snowball fights and snow person building, and just plain snow, the following classes have been cancelled, so no class for this Tuesday, Dec 20th and next Tuesday Dec 27th. Please check our Events calendar daily to ensure that class is being held before you come all the way down and stay safe out there!

The Traditional Kung Fu Invitational 2013

Tuesday, November 5th, 2013
We would like to congratulate our members Ricardo Ho and Simon Graham for their outstanding participation in The Traditional Kung Fu Invitational 2013 tournament this year. Together they took home two 1st place, three 2nd place, and one 3rd place victories! They trained hard this year and should enjoy the fruits of their labours. We would also like to thank Sifu Jack Wong and Traditional Kung Fu Training Centre for hosting such an exciting kung-fu event each and every year! While each competitor gave a strong performance, as you can see from above it was our very own Ricardo Ho who was crowned Grand Champion this year. It was a long journey for him to get this far, but he persevered and we are all proud of his achievement.

Dress warmly for all the fun! ( check out this link again for a video montage they took of us last year: http://animoto.com/play/6QO7zpHMxKpgxElYMH3Qfg ) And of course the big event is our annual Chinese New Year Chinatown Parade which takes place next Sunday January 29th, 2012! Every year the parade gets better and the turn out gets bigger! Friends and family members are always welcome and are encouraged to participate. We will be bringing out our lions, flags and martial arts teams again and volunteers are appreciated! It is a lot of fun (and you might even be seen on TV!), but come early if you want to beat the crowds!

Sunday, February 20th, 2011
Thank you everyone who came out to help out! Chinatown Parade, lettucing eating at the stores, and kung fu demo at the CCC - what a day! Holiday Training break continues!

Sunday, December 28th, 2008
We hope everyone had a wonderful White Christmas and are enjoying the amazing winter weather we are having! Due to the overwhelming amount of snowball fights and snow fort building and just plain snow, classes have been put on temporary hiatus, so no class for Sunday, December 28th. Please check our Events calendar daily to ensure that class is being held that day before you come down! And rest assured that our regular class schedule will resume as soon as possible. While we had wished to celebrate the holidays together with our fellow class members, we know that everyone is diligently continuing their practice and training on their own so that we can start the new year with a bang!
