Happy Chinese New Year January 23rd, 2012: Year of the Dragon!

January 20th, 2012
Gung Hay Fat Choy! I can't believe it's almost literally been another year and Chinese New Year 2012 is coming up soon! To celebrate we have lion dance and martial arts performances all next weekend! First on Saturday 28th we're back this year performing lion dance for the Burnaby Heights Merchant Association! Members are expected to arrive at 4019 E. Hastings around 11:15AM. Dress warmly for all the fun! ( check out this link again for a video montage they took of us last year: http://animoto.com/play/6QO7zpHMxKpgxElYMH3Qfg ) And of course the big event is our annual Chinese New Year Chinatown Parade which takes place next Sunday January 29th, 2012! Every year the parade gets better and the turn out gets bigger! Friends and family members are always welcome and are encouraged to participate. We will be bringing out our lions, flags and martial arts teams again and volunteers are appreciated! It is a lot of fun (and you might even be seen on TV!), but come early if you want to beat the crowds!

It’s looking a lot like… snow

February 27th, 2011

Happy Chinese New Year!

February 20th, 2011
Thank you everyone who came out to help out! Chinatown Parade, lettucing eating at the stores, and kung fu demo at the CCC - what a day! Although we were all very exhausted and wet by the end of the day it fun to hang out with everyone again. There were a lot familiar faces we haven't seen in a long time and new friends to be made. PLUS this year we included lion dancing for Burnady Height's Merchant Association check out the links below for photos they took of our handy work: Twitter Photo: http://twitpic.com/photos/BurnabyHeights
More photos and videos will be coming in the near future!
It's a start of a new year and a lot more training!

Merry Christmas!

December 25th, 2010
Just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas! Although the holiday season can be a lot of fun, it can also be quite stressful, especially for those who may be less fortunate. Keeping mind of others and offering a helping hand when possible is another way to spread the holiday spirit. Be safe and enjoy the holiday with the warmth of family and friends.

The Summer Heat Continues!

August 13th, 2010
Wow, I hope everyone's been enjoying the summer! The weather has just been fantastic in Vancouver. Of course I can't believe it's August already, so we better enjoy the sun while it lasts. Classes continue unabated naturally, so while the beach and other assorted activity's beckon, what could be more enjoyable than a class of kung-fu fighting and lion dance? Build up some sweat and have some fun! Class members are encouraged to come on down and swelter with us while new members are always welcome!

MidAutumn Banquets and 60th PRC Chinatown Parade Pictures are up!

October 27th, 2009
Hi guys! I finally got around to uploading the pictures of our performances at Lee's Association and Sam Duck's Association MidAutumn Banquets. Everyone got to enjoy the performance from our kids, food from the kitchen, and singing from our karaoke stars. A big thanks for all that showed up for the PRC 60th Chinatown Parade. It was great to see old members of group who came back to help (despite busy schedules) and to hang out with new friends who participated for the first time with us. Also thanks to Simo and Matt for capturing the special event on camera. It was a long day and we really appreciated everyone's help.

Great job at the New Westminster City Hall Performance!

August 3rd, 2009
Everyone worked really hard to prepare for the show and we managed to overcome all obstacles. Thank you for those who came out to support our team and took wonderful video footages and pictures. I have just uploaded the photo gallery section with pictures from our show taken by Yammie.
